Button Mashing spoke with a producer on EA's Mirror's Edge at E3 a couple of weeks ago, and it appears that the 2D animation style shown in this earlier video is indicative of how the the story will be told throughout the game.

"There is a linear story. The storytelling is done through a unique 2D animation style, we wanted there to be a real contrast between the storytelling and the videogame so that you really take notice of the story, because we feel that the story is a very important part of the game," said the as of yet unnamed producer, presumably Nick Channon.

We've heard that the game's storytelling may not be quite as black and white as this quote seems to claim. We'll get an official take on this next week.
