Ignition gives up development

El Shaddai publisher Ignition has called it quits on development in favour of a publishing partner model, apparently cancelling both Reich and Project Kane.

Ignition's director of business development Shane Bettenhausen told Siliconera Ignition will no longer develop games internally.

The company, a subsidiary of UTV, will maintain offices in London and Tokyo, but will stick strictly to publishing.

Interestingly, no mention was made of the US offices; we've contacted Ignition to find out what's going on there.

Unless the Texas office has taken over, it seems we can wave farewell to Project Kane, the on-again off-again game once called Wardevil, and Reich, which was still in the works as recently as January.

Moving forward, Ignition still has the Western launch of El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron and Vanillaware's PS Vita action RPG Dragon's Crown.

Two 3DS titles, Renegade Kid's Planet Crashers 3D and Endgame Studios' Fractured Soul 3D, are due next year, as well as a word game called Quarrel from Denki.

Thanks, GoNintendo.
