Citybound looks to remedy mistakes of SimCity's launch, is playable offline

Citybound is the new indie developed city-building game that looks to offer an alternative to SimCity. Creator Anselm Eickhoff has made clear that the game will be affordable, fully supportive of mods and available offline.

The Citybound blog lays out Eickhoff's stall well, promising an offline single-player, large region simulations, independent of DLC, and will place modding as a priority.

He adds that there's an alpha and beta build coming at a reduced price, and that the final build will support PC, Mac and Linux. ideally, Eickhoff wants players to take a 3D snapshot of their city and share it with others, making it explorable by browser. It's a neat concept, if a little ambitious for one man.

That's not a small city.
