Wreckfest PS5 upgrade is going to cost you $10

Bugbear Entertainment has confirmed that a Wreckfest PS5 upgrade is due to release on June 1, but it’s going to cost anyone eager to play on Sony’s latest hardware.

Bugbear Entertainment has announced that upgrading to the PS5 version will set you back $9.99 – or you can choose to buy it for $39.99 instead, if you’d prefer.

The update introduces a "wonderful 4K resolution at a smooth 60 frames per second" and brings multiplayer support for up to 24 players, too. PS5 players will also get to feel the Dualsense controllers’ haptic feedback in action, as well as enjoy additional foliage, improved lighting effects, and visual effects for skidmarks. Just don’t make a mess.

This comes after the game received a free upgrade over on the Xbox Series X earlier in March, which introduced both 60fps and 4K support to the game on next-gen machines. It’s not the same update, though, and it’s not clear if Xbox players are going to get this same update (or whether it’ll be priced the same, either).

Bugbear’s online racing game initially arrived on consoles back in 2019 after a successful early access period saw it release on PC in 2018.
