Next month's Xbox event expected week of July 20, Lockhart reveal in August - report

It looks like Xbox's next event will focus entirely on games.

The anticipated Xbox July showcase has yet to be given a solid, official date. Microsoft previously said it will focus entirely on first-party content, including the gameplay reveal of Halo Infinite.

But with the existence of Xbox Lockhart becoming harder to deny by the day, many assumed Microsoft will finally bite the bullet and proper reveal the less-powerful, cheaper console. Unfortunately, this doesn't appear to be the plan.

According to a Eurogamer report, Lockhart will finally be revealed in August. The reveal reportedly was initially set for this month, but Microsoft pushed it back.

As for next month's games event, a separate report from Windows Central says Microsoft plans to host it the week of July 20 on a weekday.

When it comes to games being shown, Windows Central says there's a chance we'll get to see the first project from Microsoft's new studio, The Initiative. The report also suggests that the showcase won't be entirely devoid of third-party games. Microsoft is careful, however, not to cause another controversy of showing non-gameplay gameplay.
