Kojima Productions has said a report stating Hideo Kojima was fired from Konami for using funds allocated to Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain to develop PT is “categorically false.”

A report today from Gameblog.fr stated that Hideo Kojima was fired from Komani due to misusing funds allocated to Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain in order to develop the Silent Hills teaser PT.

In light of the report, Kojima Productions has commented, stating the information in the report is “categorically false.”

It is also stated in the report that communication between Kojima and Konami “resumed a long time ago,” and that the two camps are now “cordial” enough that there’s the possibility of the two collaborating again someday.

There’s more in the report as well, which you can read at the link, but again, the information was denied by Kojima Productions.

At one time, as you know, Kojima was working on the horror game Silent Hills, which produced the aforementioned PT demo and was canceled in the wake of his fallout with Konami.
