Axiom Verge will be the next free game available through the Epic Games Store.

Axiom Verge, a widely liked Metroidvania available on PC and consoles, will be free to download through Epic Games Store the first week of February.

Developed by Tom Happ, the action-adventure title puts you in the shoes of a scientist. After a lab accident, the scientist wakes to find he’s trapped on an alien world.

Here you will explore the large, “labyrinthine world” to learn more about it, and how and why you became trapped. A plethora of weapons, items, and abilities will help you along the way.

Jackbox Party Pack is the current free game on the store, and will remain so until February 7 when it’s replaced by Axiom Verge. Come February 21, a new game will be added as a free download.

Like Subnautica, Super Meat Boy, What Remains of Edith Finct, and others before it, Axiom Verge will be free to keep once downloaded.
