The Division Update 1.8 coming this fall with Resistance and Skirmish modes, new area and social hub

The Division Update 1.8 will be released on all platforms this fall, according to word from Ubisoft.

Update 1.8, also known as Resistance, is said to be the largest free update so far for The Division.

The update introduces two new game modes along with a new area, West Side Pier, which is spread across two new zones and will be accessible for all players. There is also a new social hub called Camp Clinton and the update will include many improvements to the current game.

Here's the synopsis for Resistance:

"Defeated factions were last seen converging towards the sector and seem to have started working together for the first time. The Division must investigate the area to confirm that factions are indeed forging an alliance and determine the reason for their sudden interest in this location."

The two new modes in The Division Update 1.8, Resistance and Skirmish, will take place in the West Side Pier area.

Resistance is a PvE mode where different factions are teaming up to fight agents. There will be various NPCs spawning in waves as up to four agents try to survive for as long as they can and earn rewards.

Skirmish is a new PvP mode and here, two teams of four players will be competing to get the highest number of kills before the clock runs out. Teams earn points each time a downed enemy player is eliminated.

The new social club, Camp Clinton, allows players to group up with other agents before "taking the fight to West Side Pier." While here, players will be able to swap out their current armor and weapon setups.

Along with the new content coming to The Division, Massive will also implement improvements to the Underground DLC. A revamp of the rogue mechanics, as well as an optimization of the gear system, will be included allowing players to improve the stats of their equipment.

Massive will discuss Update 1.8 tomorrow during a State of the Game livestream on Twitch tomorrow, August 31 at 11pm ET, 4pm UK. tomorrow, August 31ST, starting 4pm UK time.
