You can try Metroid Prime: Federation Force's Blast Ball multiplayer free right now

Metroid Prime: Federation Force is still a ways off, but you can get to grips with the controls at no cost right now.

Metroid Prime: Federation Force includes a multiplayer mode called Blast Ball. This 3v3 future sports affair serves as both a tutorial and a training tool for those wanting to up their skills in piloting mech suits.

Although Metroid Prime: Federation Force won't release for a couple of weeks, Blast Ball is out now, for free, on the 3DS eShop in both North America and Europe. It will be available through launch.

Since Metroid Prime: Federation Force has an online co-op affair, you might want to take advantage and get in some practice before it arrives so you don't embarrass yourself in front of your pals looking for the jump button or whatever.

Metroid Prime: Federation Force launches in August in North America and in September in Europe and beyond. The spin-off title has been somewhat controversial; check in with the briefing video above to learn more about it.
