According to a GameBlog.fr report, Konami's Julien Merceron is no longer with the publisher. Merceron was in charge of the company's technical strategy, including its multi-platform Fox Engine.

The Fox Engine was developed for Metal Gear Solid 5 and is also being used by the Pro Evolution Soccer series.

IGN confirmed the report through independent sources, but could not confirm the reason for his departure.

Konami's decision to move away from console gaming in general and focus on mobile and pachinko machines is believed to be the reason. Though the publisher isn't exactly the best place to work.
