Heavensward, the first expansion for Final Fantasy 14, will be released in June, Square Enix announced at PAX East today.

Early Access to the content will be made available to those who pre-order the expansion on June 19. Pre-orders go live on March 16 in three versions: a standalone, collector’s edition and bundled with the core game.

Along with the new location, the content includes the Alexander raid, new flying mounts, a new loot system, three extra jobs and a new race.

The MMO’s director Naoki Yoshida told those attending a PAX panel that Heavensward contains so much content, the studio considers it more of a “standalone” than a typical expansion.

Heavensward will be released on June 23 on PC, PlayStation 3 and PS4, as well as a Mac version which is being developed by TransGaming.
