Ecco The Dolphin spiritual successor fails Kickstarter funding process, smaller project in the works

Ed Annunziata has failed to get his Ecco The Dolphin spiritual successor funded on Kickstarter. Even so, he still has plans to release his new idea in some capacity.

The Big Blue raised just $55,764 out of its $665,000 goal. Annunziata has decided to move forward with a smaller production in order to generate interest from potential buyers.

"I am absolutely certain that if you could try the game and see how beautiful and unique it will be, most people would not hesitate to back it, and will want to be involved in it's creation," he commented on Kickstarter.

"If you can play Little Blue and feel it you will have much less doubts about the Big Blue."

Little Blue is set to feature two large environments, one dolphin and a host of other sea creatures, including a leviathan. It will also be available for free and aims to drum up interest for The Big Blue, which lays dormant for now.
