Trine 2: Goblin Menace Steam release date confirmed

Trine 2's Goblin Menace expansion has been dated, but Collector's Edition owners can grab it on Steam immediately.

Frozenbyte announced a September 6 release date for the Steam version of Goblin Menace today. The Linux, mac and PC add-on features six new levels as part of an additional campaign, plus new skills which can be used in the core game, too. It'll set you back $8/€7, with a discount at launch.

To test the new content's compatibility in multiplayer situations, Frozenbyte has patched the Steam version. Anybody who owns the Collector's Edition of Trine 2 can check out the new content as it's being readied, right up until launch day, with Frozenbyte requesting feedback via its forums. The title update also includes fixes and tweaks as well as requested features like player direction indicators.

Goblin Menace will arrive on Linux and Mac sometime after the PC release. It will also be included in Trine 2: Director's Cut, the Wii U version.
