As promised, Atlus and VanillaWare have released a title update for Dragon’s Crown allowing cross-play between the PlayStation 3 and Vita versions of the side-scrolling hack-and-slash. A new trailer through the break celebrates this addition, and also gives a good look at the gameplay and customisation for those who might have been on the fence. Both PS3 and Vita versions aree available on the PlayStation Store or at retail, but unfortunately, cross-buy is not enabled.

VanillaWare has issued a patch for PS3 and Vita brawler Dragon’s Crown. In terms of bug fixes it’s graced by “improved gameplay stability, but there are a couple of new features and a list of balancing changes. Full patch notes within.

Dragon’s Crown has another gamplay video available, showing just over 14 minutes of, well, gameplay. It was posted over on 4Gamer’s YouTube Channel, so all the text is in Japanese, but you still get an idea of how things are accomplished. AGB also has some interesting new images for it posted. NIS America will publish Vanillaware’s latest in Europe on PS3 in northern autumn, and it arrives via Atlus in the US on August 6.

For one month following the August 6 launch of Dragon’s Crown in North America, a DLC pack of replacement voices will be free. The pack includes six voices – Amazon, Dwarf, Elf, Fighter, Sorceress and Wizard – which can be used in place of the generic narrator, making the game a little more personal. It will cost $2 once the grace period expires. The Vanillaware beat-’em-up is headed to PlayStation 3 and Vita.
