MTV Games and Harmonix announced today that Rubber Soul will land on the music store for The Beatles: Rock Band December 15 and 17 for Xbox 360/Wii and PS3, respectively.

Drive My Car, I’m Looking Through You and If I Needed Someone are already on the disc, so you can either download the following individually ($1.99/£.99/€1.49/160 MS Points/200 Wii Points) per each individual track or through a Complete the Album pack ($13.49/£7.49/€8.99/1440 MS Points).

MTV and Harmonix announced today that The Beatles: Rock Band has sold over one million units worldwide.

“MTV Games and Harmonix are very pleased with the sales of our Rock Band titles and we expect to continue to see strong sales throughout the holidays across all of our titles,” an MTV spokesperson told IndustryGamers.

“The Beatles: Rock Band has sold over 1 million units worldwide to date.”

Good to hear. Now all we need to do is get it ourselves.

In case you can’t remember, you silly beggers, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band releases tomorrow for Xbox Live Marketplace and the Rock Band Shop for the Wii version, with a PSN release on Thursday.

Harmonix and MTV announced this morning that Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band will be released as DLC for The Beatles: Rock Band next week on November 17 and 19 for Xbox 360/Wii and PS3, respectively.

This is the second full album to be released, with Abbey Road being the first, and Rubber Soul coming in December as the third album.

The complete album pack includes: Fixing A Hole, She’s Leaving Home, Being For The Benefit of Mr. Kite!, Within You Without You, When I’m Sixty-Four, Lovely Rita, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise) and A Day In The Life.

Tacks Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, With A Little Help From My Friends, Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, Getting Better, and Good Morning Good Morning are already on the game disc, so the new tracks will complete the album.

Individually, each will run you $1.99/£.99/€1.49 EU, 160 MS Points, or 200 Wii Points ($2).

The pack will cost $13.49/£7.49/€8.99 or 1080 MS Points.

Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter has pinned flat September sales in the US on the decline of the music genre in general.

“We expected far higher sales for the month, as we succumbed to much of the hype surrounding the relatively high-profile launches of The Beatles: Rock Band and Guitar Hero 5,” he said.

“We had expected the former to sell 1.3 million units, and thought that sales of the disc would drive sales of older Rock Band bundles; instead, the game sold fewer than half our estimate, and overall sales came in at $73 million, well below our $140 million estimate.

“Similarly, we thought that the giveaway of a voucher for Guitar Hero Van Halen would have great appeal, and would drive Guitar Hero 5 sales. The game sold fewer than our 700,000 unit estimate, and overall Guitar Hero sales were only $43 million, well below our $75 million unit estimate,” he added.

He also said that Activision’s music games sales could be down as much as 25 per cent on last year.

As shown in the NPD this week, US sales we up only 5 percent over last year.

All You Need is Love was downloaded more than 100,000 times for The Beatles: Rock Band in September, MTV said today.

The DLC was a 360 exclusive, as announced at E3 this year.

The game itself was the second bestselling title across all formats in the US last month, as detailed in last night’s NPD release.

Halo 3: ODST has outright won the software front in the September NPDs, selling over 1.5 million units in the month.

Wii Sports Resort (442k) and Madden NFL 10 for the Xbox 360 (289k) rounded off the top three in the software charts.

Beatles: Rock Band for the 360 beat Guitar Hero 5 for the 360, with 254k in fourth compared to GH5′s 210k in ninth.

The Wii version of Beatles rounds off the top 10 with 208k units sold.

EA’s sent out a friendly reminder that Abbey Road will be the first full album to become available to download for Beatles: Rock Band, as of tomorrow on Xbox Live Marketplace for 1360 MS points and on the Rock Band shop for the Wii.

The album will also release on the PSN on Thursday for £10.46/$16.99/€11.37.

It’s also worth noting that Sgt Pepper and Rubber Soul are due before the end of the year.

Harmonix representative John Drake has told BBPS that DLC for The Beatles: Rock Band is not a sure thing as it all depends on sales.

“Every time we do one song, it’s not like Rock Band where we wait for the masters to come in and just author them… its like, send people to Abbey Road, use the original tape, separate them out… it costs thousands of dollars,” he said.

“We’re waiting to see how things sell. We’re waiting to see how the albums do. If they sell well, we’ll have a lot more content.”

Somehow, we don’t see sales for this title being an issue, but we could be wrong.

Looks like EA has officially announced the two microphone pack for The Beatles: Rock Band.

The two microphone pack for PS3 contains two SingStar mics and is for sale now in the UK for £49.99.

In the press release, Harmonix and MTV threw in a gentle reminder that Abbey Road will be released on October 20, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band in November and Rubber Soul in December.

Microsoft has announced that the first downloadable song for The Beatles: Rock Band, “All You Need is Love”, has become the fastest-selling bit of DLC in the franchise’s history – all within two days of being made available.

The proceeds from the DLC have so far equaled in the “tens of thousands of dollars”, and directly benefit the Doctors Without Borders charity.

Also, remember that cool Xbox 360 with Beatles artwork up for auction benefiting the charity? It sold for $17,300.

Guitar Hero 5 may be winning the battle of the bands, but you won’t find any gently weeping guitars over at Viacom.

“It’s been terrific. The sales have exceeded our internal expectations. In the first week we’ve sold about 25% of our inventory, and we’ve had tremendous excitement around this game. The reviews have been incredible… It really is a work of art. The game delivers in all respects and we think it’s going to have legs,” said Viacom CEO Philippe Dauman during a Goldman Sachs conference call.

Dauman also noted that, surprisingly enough, the most expensive Beatles SKU isn’t doing too shabbily, despite less-than-friendly economic conditions.

“The special limited edition set that we have priced at $249, with the Ringo drums, is selling really fast, and it looks like we’ll be selling out of that in November, so if any of you are interested in buying that you’d better hurry up,” he said.

Guitar Hero 5 has beaten The Beatles: Rock Band to No. 1 in the latest UK charts.

Harmonix’s effort didnt even land in the top three, only getting to four in the charts. DiRT 2 and Batman: Arkham Asylum round off the top three.

Songs in The Beatles: Rock Band that take place in a studio setting feature animations, which Harmonix refers to as “dreamscapes”.

These graphics are inspired by the song playing and DLC albums for the game will get similar treatment.

“DLC songs which don’t end up in historical venues will have custom dreamscapes, yes,” said the game’s lead artist, Dare Matheson, to Joystiq. lead artist for the game. “There will be visual themes and elements that will stretch from the on-disc dreamscapes into the DLC dreamscapes, but everyone is custom, unique, and fully-crafted for the song it will accompany.”
