Rocksmith 2014 Edition has some new DLC available and its a five pack from Iron Maiden. Each song will run you $2.99 each or you can buy the entire pack for $11.99. The songs available are: 2 Minutes To Midnight, Aces High, Fear of the Dark, The Number of the Beast, and Run to the Hills. The pack is available on Mac, PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Video is below.

Rocksmith is now available in the UK, but Ubisoft has mistakenly shipped a batch of PC editions without activation keys, much to the anger of fans. The publisher is offering compensation to those affected.

Rocksmith has been given a concrete release date for Europe. The game, which teaches players how to play a real guitar and bass, launched last October in the US. Rocksmith will land in stores for PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 27 and on PC October 18. Thanks, Talkar.

New DLC for Ubisoft’s Rocksmith will add the option to learn the bass guitar when it launches for PS3 and 360 next week. Bass tracks for all of Rocksmith’s 53 tracks will be supported, in addition to any downloaded tracks. The DLC includes tutorial videos as well as a series of challenges and mini-games to help players improve their skill level, it will also allow you to use a 6-string guitar to emulate a 4-string bass.
The Bass Expansion DLC launches on PS3 and 360 on August 14 for $29.99. Rocksmith launched last October in the US and is due to hit Europe and Australia in September.

Ubisoft has said it plans to bring Assassin’s Creed III, Far Cry 3, Just Dance 4, and Rocksmith to Eurogamer Expo in September. Each game will be playable, and the show this year promises to be “the biggest gaming show the UK has ever seen,” says Eurogamer MD Rupert Loman. More developers and publishers are to be announced for the show in the coming weeks. Eurogamer Expo takes place at Earls Court in London between September 27 and 30.

Guitar Apprentice filed a patent infringement against Ubisoft last week over its guitar instruction game Rocksmith. According to the suit, the company claims Ubisoft in direct violation of USP 8,119,896 which was created for a “media system and method of progressive musical instruction”. Guitar Apprentice filed the patent on October 12, 2010 and Rocksmith launched in the US a year later. This isn’t the first run in Ubisoft has had over the instructional game, as a band named Rocksmith is currently disputing the title claiming it owns the rights to the name “Rocksmith”. Ubisoft’s North American executive director Laurent Detoc feels the reason Rocksmith was met with a less-than enthusiastic response from the gaming community along with tepid review scores is because “as much as [gamers] claim they want innovation, they don’t.”

Ubisoft has confirmed on Facebook that Rocksmith will not release in Europe until 2012. The game is still down for a release next week, but will miss here until next year due to “music licensing and other external factors.” For those thinking about importing, you may be out of luck. According to GameSpot, the 360 version is region-locked, and the PS3 version won’t be compatible in PAL as won’t post-launch DLC despite it being region-free.
