Rock Band DLC update is working for the weekend
Although PlayStation 3 owners will have to wait a little, the rest of you can fire up Rock Band 3 today and jam to tunes possibly released before you were born.

Rock Band 3 title update adds in smoke machine support
When is a patch not a patch? When it’s on a console, apparently, and becomes a mandatory title update. Rock Band 3 is due for a doozy, increasing your options for triggering overdrive on various instruments, fixing the PS3 keyboards distortion, and adding support for the ill-fated, smoke-machine sporting stage kit.

Harmonix has “no plans” for Rock Band and Kinect
The Main Drag drummer and Harmonix community manager John Drake has said Harmonix aren’t planning on putting Kinect features in Rock Band any time soon, but sees a bright future for the genre.

Rock Band Network 2.0 due February 15
If you’re still plugging along with Rock Band or its sequel, you’ve just been given one more reason to grab the third game. Rock Band Network v2.0 goes live in February, and all new RBN releases will require a copy of Rock Band 3 to function.

Report – Viacom sold Harmonix for $50
Harmonix was sold by Viacom to investment group Columbus Nova for $49.99, All Things Digital is reporting.
