Wal-Mart is offering a free copy of either Gears of War 2 or Gears of War 3 – buyer’s choice – with pre-orders for Gears of War: Judgment, according to Gamespot. The bonus comes on top of the free downloadable copy of the original Gears of War which will be bundled with all new copies at launch. Gears of War: Judgment is a prequel co-developed by Epic Games and People Can Fly and is due in the US on March 19, exclusively for Xbox 360.

Achievements for Gears of War: Judgment have shown up online, and if you want to get a jump on what to expect, head on over to Exophase. As usual, beware of potential spoilers should you decide to click. Upon release, the latest in the shooter franchise, co-developed by People Can Fly, contains new multiplayer modes, the maps Gondola, Island and Library, and the new game mode, Extraction. Gears of War: Judgment publisher Microsoft has teamed up with GAME UK to hold a series of store lock-ins, which will see gamers locked in their local store with the game. Participants will get the chance to be among the first gamers to go hands-on with People Can Fly and Epic Game’s shooter.

Gears of War: Judgment will come with a download code for the original Gears of War, according to Spanish site The Vault, which cites an anonymous source for the news. The People Can Fly-developed effort is the fourth in the series; the original debutes in 2006. Expect Judgment in March, exclusively for Xbox 360.

Epic and Microsoft have released the pack shot for Gears of War: Judgment. It’s below. The latest in the shooter franchise, co-developed by People Can Fly, contains new multiplayer modes, OverRun and Free-for-All, with the inclusion of the maps Gondola, Island and Library. Gears of War: Judgment received a new campaign trailer over the weekend. It was broadcast live during the VGA awards, but now we’ve got the full HD version, with no branding or other nonsense over the top of it – well, except our logo of course. It shows Cole and Baird fighting Locust just 30 days after Emergence Day, and all hell is breaking loose. Enjoy.
