Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen to include original game in Japan

20130123_dragons_dogma_dark_arisen

Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen arrives in Japan in late April, where it’s releasing on a PlayStation 3 disc at retail rather than as DLC. The expansion’s hefty ¥4,990 price tag has been explained by word from this week’s Famitsu, via Gematsu‘s translation of Japanese reports, that it includes the full original RPG. The expansion, which supports save game transfer and includes new features such as persistent enemy corpses, has not been confirmed for western release.

Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen expansion dated for Japan

20130117_dragons_sogma_dark_arisen

Capcom Japan has confirmed an April 25 release date for Dark Arisen, a major expansion to Dragon’s Dogma. The date was shown in a trailer seen in a Famitsu livestream, according to Siliconera, so at this point should be considered relevant to Japan only. Dragon’s Dogma released worldwide in May 2012, though, so a global sim-ship is not out of the question. Dark Arisen is expected as DLC on both platforms in the west but will ship on-disc in Japan.
