Croteam’s Serious Editor has joined the ranks of the Steam Workshop-compatible. The tools were in beta for a short time, so the suite has gone live with more than 60 mods already available, including multiplayer and survival mode maps, character skins, and weapon and enemy modifications. The Editor should be available to all Serious Sam 3 owners via the Tools section of their Steam library.

Serious Sam 3: BFE will launch worldwide on Xbox Live Arcade next week, Croteam, Devolver Digital and Mastertronic have announced.

MTV Multiplayer reports the two spin-offs created to promote Serious Sam 3 are on their way to Xbox Live Arcade. Side-scrolling shooter Serious Sam: Double D and prequel Serious Sam 3: BFE are both headed to the service in northern autumn, with the former boasting greater gameplay variety and two player co-op in addition to other bonuses like new weapons. Both titles were previously available only for PC, despite the core game’s multi-platform release.

Croteam’s confirmed it’s still workin on Serious Sam 3 for a release on Xbox 360 following the launch of the PC version earlier in the year, but fans are in for a wait at least.

Serious Sam 3 is now available on Mac. The shooter now has SteamPlay unlocked on Mac, meaning that if you download it on Windows, you’ll be able to play it on both Windows and Mac. The game’s also now on sale on Steam until Monday, with the price down 66% to £10.20/$13.60. Get it here.

Next time you load up Serious Sam: BFE, you’ll get a free Santa skin for your character, which will turn multiplayer matches into something reminiscent of Silent Night, Deadly Night, as explained by GamesRadar. Those thinking of pirating Serious Sam 3 may wish to reconsider, unless they want to be dogged constantly by a giant, pink, invincible scorpion. According to a report over on Dark Side of Gaming, the DRM in the game is said giant scorpion, and it cannot be killed. It only appears in pirated versions of the game, and will be your constant, deadly nemesis from the moment you boot up the game. Devolver Digital and Croteam have a new trailer out for Serious Sam 3: BFE, and it shows the various weapons and moves our muscular hero can use to introduce his enemies the angel of death.
