Rebellion has revealed the first gameplay footage for Rogue Trooper Redux, the remaster of the studio's 2006 shooter. Rogue Trooper is a third-person shooter, with some unique mechanics such as being able to absorb your fallen buddies' abilities.

The remaster brings with it many modern graphics features and rendering techniques that make the game really shine. Expect things like parallax mapping, dynamic lights, and dynamic shadows. What's more, the studio also tweaked the gameplay and controls a bit for the game not to feel outdated.

There are several people at Rebellion who worked on the original Rogue Trooper whom are still there at the British studio today, such as programmer Rich May, who narrates the video.

We also get to see the Biochip mechanic, which allows the protagonist to carry the memories of his fallen brethren with him into battle. Each Biochip also nets him a benefit when equipped, such as Bagman's ability to make ammo.

Rogue Trooper Redux is out sometime this year on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
