Following a trial run in some regions, the Pokemon Company has now officially launched Magikarp Jump on iTunes, and Google Play stores all over the world.

The app has a simple premise in that it allows you to develop the Magikarp by feeding and training it. The goal is to have it jump higher and higher, and you're able to compare your score with others'.

If your Magikarp reaches level 20, or it gets knocked out during training, you'll start over with a new generation and lose some progress. The game features other Pokemon, too, who will help Magikarp reach new heights.

Magikarp Jump is free-to-play, but you can spend real money on cosmetic items, and on ways to speed up the training.
