Pokemon Sun and Moon takes a lot longer to boot up on standard 3DS vs New 3DS

The upgraded New Nintendo 3DS is helping players of Pokemon Sun and Moon get into the game faster.

Like all 3DS games, Pokemon Sun and Moon is available on the entire family of 3DS devices, including 2DS, as well as the upgraded New 3DS line.

If you're running a New 3DS, though, your game will load much faster. In the video above, Nintendo Life compares the load times on an original 3DS with that of a New 3DS, side by side.

In both cases, a digital copy of Pokemon Moon is used, installed on a 32GB Class10 Sandisk MicroSD.

This isn't too uncommon, though, as some games - such as Monster Hunter X, have taken full advantage of the upgraded power of the New 3DS. However, these improvements are advertised ahead of launch, unlike in the case of Pokemon.

Like the site notes, even the slow load times are still only a few seconds-long, so it's not a big deal.
