Ryu, Roy, R.O.B. Amiibo dated, Cloud, Bayonetta and Corrin inbound

Super Smash Bros. and Amiibo fans should budget carefully over the next few months.

Today's Nintendo Direct provided an Amiibo update in addition to a stack of Super Smash Bros. 3DS and Wii U DLC news.

Nintendo said that previously announced Ryu (Street Fighter), Roy (Fire Emblem) and R.O.B. (NES) Amiibo will release in North America on March 18.

The platform holder also confirmed that new characters Cloud Strife (Final Fantasy 7), Bayonetta and Corrin (Fire Emblem Fates) will eventually receive Amiibo tributes.

Nintendo had previously said that all Super Smash Bros. characters would produce Amiibo, so this isn't terribly surprising.
