Final Fantasy 15: Episode Duscae's auto-switch weapon system has been axed

Final Fantasy 15 will have a different battle system to that seen in the Episode Duscae taster.

In Final Fantasy 15: Episode Duscae, players could select weapons to be used for specific types of attacks. As they chained these attacks together, their character would automatically switch between weapons.

That's all changed, apparently. According to Nova Crystallis's translation of a post on the RPG's Japanese forums, in the final game players will instead be able to use the D-pad to swap between four equipped weapons at will.

You can still elect to set a specific weapon for use in Counter and Raid attacks if you like, or leave it open to draw on whichever one you have equipped at the time.

Final Fantasy 15 has not been dated but is coming to PS4 and Xbox One sometime in 2016.
