Uzumaki creator was working on Silent Hills

Silent Hills was even more important than we realised.

Today's Silent Hills news is enough to make me tear up in mourning for the loss of this cancelled horror project.

As if the dream team of Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro weren't enough, the latter has revealed that there was a third creative partner: Junji Ito, the master horror manga creator. Ito has a string of notable works to his name including Uzumaki, Tomie and Gyo, and is widely considered one of modern horror's most important creatives.

Now that I think of it there are some aspects of PT, Silent Hills' withdrawn announcement and playable teaser, which have an Ito feel to them. And they were great. It's enough to make you cry, isn't it? What were you thinking, Konami?
