The game will be released as a trilogy, and PlayStation owners will receive a special 20% discount when purchasing the three volumes in a bundle. PlayStation Plus members will receive 30% off.

Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma is the sequel to the original story and picks up where the first game left off, and it focuses on the character's revenge against Afro.

Afro defeated Kuma in the previous title, and players will need to help him regain his strength, humanity, and sanity in order to "go after Afro to avenge the deaths of all those he loved." Especially the death of his adopted little sister Otsuru - one of the children murdered during the Sword School massacre.

For those unfamiliar with Kuma's background, he is cybernetically enhanced character with a bear’s head who was Afro’s closest friend as a child - back when he was known as Jino.

Volumes Two and Three will be released at a later date, and each will contain a new story arch, characters, and combat styles.

The soundtrack will also contain indie hip hop artists such as Visual Eyez, which have been "mentored" by Wu-Tang Clan's RZA who has been the music director on the franchise since the original animated series. He is also a new character in the series, Bobby Digital, who is also in the game.

Volume One will be released on PS4 September 22.

Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma will also be released on PC and Xbox One later this year.
