Castle Crashers Remastered is an Xbox One repackaging of the seven year old Xbox Live classic, which has since made it way to numerous systems.

According to The Behemoth blog, Remastered launches on September 9 in North America, with other territories to follow.

The re-release delivers a new multiplayer mini-game called Back Off Barbarian, gameplay tweaks and better online multiplayer performance. It's also an HD brush-up, with textures five times the size of the original game's and a doubled frame rate of 60FPS.

It's priced at $15, but will be free through September 20 for those who own an Xbox 360 version and have an active Xbox Live Gold subscription. From September 21 it will cost $5 for those who own the Xbox 360 version. If you really don't want to pony up, Xbox One backwards compatibility is coming to the old version this season - but don't expect any of the new features or fixes.
