Capcom's banner Q1 results partially attributed to Resident Evil 6 arcade game sales

Capcom can thank its Resident Evil 6 arcade game for its robust Q1 2015 financials results.

Noted in the Amusement Equipments business section of the report, Capcom stated its Resident Evil 6 machine sold 19,000 units, achieving a 303% increase in revenue for the sector to ¥6 billion.

Without providing any unit sales figures for its game division, Capcom just noted Resident Evil Revelations 2, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, DMC4 SE and Resident Evil HD sold well - particularly overseas. The Digital Contents division earnings were up 14% year-over-year to ¥6.3 billion. The largest release for the sector was the Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition.

The firm's mobile games business earned ¥600 million ($4.8 million) which is less than half of what was reported for the same period last year.

As a whole, Capcom reported ¥14.5 billion ($116 million) in revenue, a 53% increase year-over-year. Net income came in at ¥1.56 billion ($12.6 million), up 105% over the same period last year.
