Over on the DOTA 2 site, Custom Games are detailed as "new experiences that are created by the community, and playable within Dota 2. These games can be anything from a grand brawl between ten Invokers, to a story-driven dungeon adventure, to something creative that no one has seen before."

The Custom Games hub is where you can find and play Custom Games, including new and untested ones, giving them a chance to find an audience. As well as browsing popular games, you can create a favourites list, stalk your friends by having a look at what they've been up to, cast your vote on games, and peruse suggested Custom Games that are trending upwards and gathering positive votes from the community.

You can spectate Custom Games, which each have their own launch pages, and create your own lobby if you just want to play with friends.

The developer tools for making your own Custom Games include a Hammer level editor, a material editor for creating and transporting materials into your game, a model editor, a particle editor, and a developer console. You can check out the Hammer level editor in the video below.
