EA Sports has announced Rory McIlroy PGA TOUR will be released in July.

Originally announced for June, the golf game will now release the same week as the Open Championship at St. Andrews, on July 14.

EA also provided some more color on gameplay features such as the ability to customize the game by borrowing elements from the gameplay styles Arcade, Classic and Tour.

An Aiming Arc has been developed to account for wind, elevation, ball lie and shot shaping, and the putt read shows you the ball will break "if hit with optimal speed."

The new backswing meter lets the player know when they have reached the end of their backswing based on the shot set up.

Realistic options are available for ball drops for situations such as a ball landing in the bushes or water.

The blog post linked above goes into more detail on the gameplay elements, some of which can be seen in the screenshots below.

Rory McIlroy PGA TOUR is in development for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
