Regicide will debut on Steam Early Access on May 5, developer Hammerfall Publishing has announced.

The opening cinematic to the single-player campaign was released to accompany this news; take a look below. It introduces a story in which Space Marines face off against "unexpected adversaries" as they investigate the source of mysterious transmissions and fight to liberate Hethgar Prime.

The full Blood Angels campaign will release in several acts throughout Regicide's Early Access period, and will eventually feature 50 missions, narrated by Dawn of War series veteran Brian Dobson.

Regicide is described as blending strategy and cinematic action. It has cross-platform multiplayer with persistent progress, and will eventually be playable on mobile devices, too. Hammerfall said it has received tens of thousands of registrations since the game's announcement in May last year.

By the end of the Early Access phase Hammerfall expects to have 11 Chapters and Clans across both Space Marine and Ork factions, starting with the Blood Angels and Goffs. The White Scars and Bad Moons will initially be available exclusively to active forum members.
