Dead Rising 2 and Off the Record make the jump to Steamworks tomorrow

Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record will both make the jump to Steamworks this week.

Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record will very soon join the multitude of games to leave Microsoft's Games for Windows Live service behind and make the switch to Steamworks. Anyone who bought the games directly from GFWL is out of luck unfortunately, as Capcom cannot offer a transfer option due to there being no "authentication option available."

Both games will be available starting tomorrow, March 17, and will support Steam achievements, leaderboards, cloud saves, and trading cards (at a later date).

Any DLC that was purchased through GFWL will sadly not carry over. Save files however will, through a migration tool built into the game.

Capcom said that while this will affect existing and future Steam copies of the games, GFWL copies will still function normally through the service.

Detailed steps and an FAQ were published on the Capcom Unity site, so be sure to give those a read.
