Game of Thrones adaptation is a possibility, says Paradox boss

Game of Thrones should be made into a political, character-driven grand strategy game immediately, and Paradox is the company to do it.

We've had one Game of Thrones strategy game already courtesy of Cyanide, but it wasn't especially well-received. The property has so much potential that we'd love to see someone else have a go and try to do better - and the team behind Crusader Kings 2 seems ideal, right?

Speaking at ParadoxCon, as reported by PC Gamer, CEO Fredrik Wester said he's considered it.

"The reason we haven't approached HBO is that I'm still on the fence because I'm not sure it's the right route for us to take," he said.

"It would make a great franchise for us, it's just that we just need to get over that inner feeling that it's not the right thing to do. It's a lot about creative control."

Wester revealed that Paradox has been in touch with HBO to discuss the popular Game of Thrones Crusader Kings 2 mod, and said the broadcaster is a little bit "wary" of it but hasn't tried to shut it down.
