Syndicate Wars successor Satellite Reign now available on Steam

Satellite Reign is now available via Steam Early Access. Glob bless the indie revolution.

Syndicate as we knew it is dead and gone and all we have to comfort ourselves with is Starbreeze's 2012 shooter, which is not much to keep you warm on the cold evenings when the wind is howling at the door, sounding exactly like a 1990's TV ad for a new cyberpunk tactical game about warring corporations.

Thankfully, the wonders of the modern age mean it doesn't matter that no publisher with any marbles left will publish the games you ache for in the secret corners of your heart. Viz: Satellite Reign, a spiritual successor to Syndicate Wars, the third entry in the series.

Syndicate Wars designer Mike Diskett is the lead creative behind this project, which makes no bones of its goal to follow in the Bullfrog classic's footsteps. His name and the great hunger we hide behind carefully blanked faces led to a successful Kickstarter in June 2013, and now here we are 18 months later with a Steam Early Access build.

This work-in-progress release is priced at $30, although you can save 10% during its launch period. I'm going to buy it after work today, and if I never come back let it be known that I starved to death very happily.
