Elder Scrolls Online is still in the works for consoles, and while news on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the MMO has been scant, today ZemiMax Online has provided a promising update.

According to the latest blog post from game director Matt Firor, the team is "steadily working" on the console version which is in a "playable and fun" state at the studio and the in-development Justice and Champion Systems will be included alongside the release.

"There's still some work to do before we can set an official launch date," said Firor. "First and foremost, we want to make sure that two of our most important systems still in development — the Justice and Champion Systems — are included in the console release.

"Those two systems will introduce a huge amount of content to the game, and we know everyone is looking forward to the new types of gameplay they provide."

Firor also reiterated that the console versions of ESO are "not just ports" of the PC and Mac MMO, and that the PC user interface has been replaced with a console-specific UI designed from the ground-up with "a controller and a living room play experience in mind."

"We’ve also added voice chat and full integration with XBL and PSN," he continued, promising that more information on the PS4 and Xbox One versions will be revealed in early 2015.

The Justice and Champion Systems will be added to the game's PTS shortly after the first of the year and Update 6 is expected in January.
