You’ll be surprised at how much content is in the Destiny beta

Bungie has released a new video entitled: “Everything You Need To Know About The Destiny Beta”, which debuts first on PlayStation. Along with the video, the firm’s community manager also discussed whether saves from the tester will carry over or be wiped.

According to the developers, beta testers will be able to experience the story, be competitive, participate in cooperative activities, and find out what it’s like to be a citizen of the tower.

Bungie has also told Eurogamer it has yet to decide if beta progress will be carried over into the full release.

“The beta is a test. It’s extremely unknown as to what the outcome will be,” said community manager David Dague. “So, it’s certainly not a promise or an announcement that we’re making at this time. It all depends on what we learn and how things shake out.

“We’re certainly not telling players they can carry their progress over, but we haven’t made any announcements either way.”

Bungie said it hopes to gather as much information as possible along with feedback.

“Every time someone plays a build of Destiny we learn something about what we create. We learn how it can be better. We learn how we can better support it behind the scenes,” said Dague.

“When you start to play in the beta you’re going to instantly observe some of the different things we’ve changed in direct response to feedback we gained during the alpha. Some of those things will be front and center – you won’t be able to miss them.

“Every time somebody plays this game we learn more about how we can balance the experience between the different classes of Guardians. We learn about weapons that stand out too much in the sandbox. We learn about how we can refine the sandbox so if there is an explosive, exciting place for players to explore, everyone has an equal shot at victory, and there are many different decisions a player can make to embrace different types of power. Things like the alpha and things like the beta are wonderful opportunities for us to identify those things and act upon them.”

The beta releases for Xbox 360 and Xbox One on July 23.

Destiny is coming to PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in September. The beta kicks off this week on Thursday, July 17.

Lets see what the hype is all about, got keys for both PS4 and XB1.

I’ll probably have 2 spare of each eventually, so someone could start a forum thread where we could give them away (and make the forum actually accessible from the main page again).

    No and yes.

All you gotta do is pre-order it on amazon and then cancel though. I’m sure you’ll find a key somewhere soon enough anyway, since everyone will get 3 keys each.

@Hcw87 If you could send one to if you’ve got a spare code for Xbox One that would be awesome! I already entered a legit code 3 months ago but for some reason I wont get a beta code. Because of that I would appreciate if you could give me one. Also, if you want someone to play the beta with on the Xbox One, you can always add me. My gamertag is LuckyLuukMans.

i’m so extremely bummed that the beta is just one week for xbone. they pushed preorders on it, and then all they give is one lousy week.
