Satoru Iwata won’t be at E3 due to health reasons

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata will not attend next week’s E3 2014 conference due to health reasons.

It follows Nintendo’s denial that it will reveal new hardware at E3 2014. However, it has confirmed that it is working on new hardware of some kind.

Iwata, 54, was advised to avoid travelling overseas next week by physicians, but was deemed fit to continue at work.

Nintendo vice president of corporate affairs Cindy Gordon told the site, “He’s been instructed by his physician not to travel overseas in the immediate future, and so he will not be making the trip to Los Angeles.

“Please understand that it is business as usual for Mr. Iwata, and he continues his normal duties as president of Nintendo Co., Ltd. while he remains in Japan. As always, he will be actively involved in all of Nintendo’s activities at the show.”

Nintendo will not hold an on-stage conference at E3 next week, but it will publish a new Nintendo Direct stream with all of its new announcements. Get all the details on how you can watch the broadcast here.

54, man he doesnt represent that age, he looks younger, the same for miyamoto, but i guess is japanese gens doings.
I hope He recovers quickly, now one question, will he be part of the direct streama?, or because of this health problem, he will be absent.

This does not mean he won’t appear in their E3 Direct as they can just live stream from Japan or (due to the distance) they could just prerecord his footage as he is still fit to work just not travel.
