Xbox One Twitch streaming displays at higher resolution than PS4, claims feed test

Tuesday, 4th March 2014 11:47 GMT By Dave Cook

Xbox One’s Twitch streaming app is said to display broadcasts at 720p and 30FPS, which is said to be higher than the same service currently offered on PlayStation 4.

Reddit user rotj came to the deduction after using Twitch Analyzer to assess Major Nelson’s Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare stream.

They add that by comparison; PS4 streams that 960×540 at 30FPS, while the Nelson results came back at 1280×720. Sony currently does not offer users the chance to archive their Twitch streams, while Xbox One does. Microsoft’s app also lets users block out party chat audio while streaming, and view chat and viewer statistics without them showing up on your broadcast.

You’ll find the full stream statistics here.

Twitch streaming will hit Xbox One on March 11, just in time for Titanfall’s launch. Will you be using it?

Well, at least XBone wins the “resolution war” in “Twitch Streams”

This is good especially the archive and higher resolution.

They have had an extra couple of months to make it right so hopefully the PS4 can get updated too in the future.

I’m really interested in the Interactive streams that are starting to be implemented like Dead Nation, this kind of thing would be great for a Demon Souls game :-)

Well shit that is it isn’t!?

I am going to go sell my PS4 now, buy an X1 just to get me some worthless social feature that doesn’t effect any actual games!!

I guess power of the cloud helps visual fidelity after all.
