Battlefield 4: China Rising raises multiplayer level cap, rewards for top-tier players

Battlefield 4: China Rising has – without any fanfare – raised the multiplayer level cap from 100 to 110, which is a first for the series. Once you hit level 101, something lovely happens.

EA announced the raised level cap quietly in this forum thread, and MP1st adds that once you hit level 101, your rank number will go from white to a garish magenta colour so everyone knows you’re in that top tier.

They even took this screen-grab of what that looks like in the lobbies:

What do you make of the level cap rise? Is it a good incentive to keep people playing? Let us know below.

Umm… 110 is the max level since the very beggining. Since they released the game nov 1.

Yeah seen quite a few 110′s already, it’s been there since release.

Actually the both of you are wrong. Seeing how this was added by accident via a patch around the end of November on the PC.

Also, if the level cap was 110 when the game was released (which it wasn’t, since it was added for the China Rising DLC), then you would’ve seen the majority of the people who spent 300+ hours on the game at level 110. Which quite frankly that isn’t the case.

I wonder how many hours on average it takes to get to that level. I’d assume they are shared accounts, with multiple people playing them? As surely it would mean not sleeping continuously since launch to be that high without stat padding, botting or generally cheating in some way? Do the XP boosts really help that much? I’ve not been able to use any of mine through disconnects or game freezes and scores not counting generally when I have done.
Also it’s a shame you can’t just view anyones stats you want to. Would easily be able to see who has only gone on one of those daft stat padding servers where no one can kill each other and just do flags, etc. Amazed those kind of servers are allowed tbh.

China rising arrived earlier on PC – hence all the early weapon unlocks and earlier level cap increase.

Don’t forget your level 100 assignments.

You maybe right about that but it was not at the end of the month. The patch arrived at 14th.
