Bugbear Entertainment has cancelled its Kickstarter for Next Car Game. Funding for the project was slated to end on December 1 and $81,772 was pledged toward the $350,000 goal by 2,487 backers.

Bugbear said that while the fundraiser “attracted tremendous enthusiasm,” as it was not going to hit its goal. Instead, the firm will launch a pre-order campaign to support continued development, and have released a playable “technology sneak peek” for those who decide to pre-order.

Early Access customers will still be able to participate in the alpha.

Thanks, Blue.

I’d have to chalk that one up as being a high profile casualty! :o My only idea about why things went like this. could be because I feel as if Bugbear had the idea “knocking around” for a while and news sites had picked up on, and ran stories on NGC previously on several occasions; so, when they came to actually try and fund it it wasn’t that fresh an idea. Their impact their ks made was dampened. They took a long time turning to crowd-funding.
