Diablo 3 PS3 patch fixes several crashes, no ETA on Xbox 360 version

Wednesday, 16th October 2013 02:25 GMT By Brenna Hillier

The PlayStation 3 version of Diablo 3 has been patched to correct several annoying crash issues, while Xbox 360 owners will have to wait a little longer for their own title update.

According to a post on Battle.net. Blizzard doesn’t yet have an ETA on when the Xbox 360 patch will become available; it’s not clear whether the Xbox 360 version is still in the works or whether it’s awaiting certification from Microsoft.

The two patches are likely to have the same content, though, so the PS3 patch notes are a good preview. Blizzard has issued six sets of crash fixes, as well as correcting a number of bugs. The patch also contains changes which are designed to solve save file corruption issues.

Thanks, Joystiq.

EDIT: This patch is out for both Xbox and PS3 now. It’s their first patch (after the day one patch).

It’s weird that it takes two additional weeks for it to come to Xbox though, it seems Sony has made a deal with Actiblizz to publish patches to PS3 first, and only talk about the PS4 version. I’m guessing the same patching tactic will happen on next gen versions. Shady.

@1 Is because of Microsoft retarded/greedy policies. Every time a developer needs a patch has to pay microsoft around 40000 usd to release it.
That`s why lots of patchs are delayed and a lot aren`t even released. Like the one for the Silent Hill Colecction for example.

@1 The approval process takes time regardless of console, so developers usually just wait until one in complete so they can release at the same time.

Blizzard are not stupid enough to do something like you’re suggesting. Why would they? It would just annoy people.

No crazy conspiracy here I’m afraid.

As If they would make a deal for patches anyway, thats crazy talk.
