SimCity survey gauges player interest in increased city size, more

Wednesday, 3rd July 2013 15:18 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

SimCity players have been sent a survey which suggests EA is considering an increase in city size, maybe even up to two times the size currently.

Listed as a “potential feature change” along with a rebuild tool, online guilds, subways, and the ability to name buildings, streets and sims.

The survey also mentions interest in possible co-op which would allow players to “build cities together” as well as the possibility of “terraforming much like in SimCity 4″.

“True God Mode powers [would] give you the ability to raise/lower terrain and create your own city and regional maps,” according to the survey. “Carve out lakes, rivers and oceans.”

There’s more in the survey which you can view through Reddit here.

Thanks, PCgameN.

    Sadly these are things that should be available at launch.

    Can they unfuck Sim City 4 before the next one comes out or is this another case of Dark Spore (I know they kinda fixed it but they sure took their sweet time)?

    @1 yes.

    And the only limit to city size should have been the computer running the game. EA screwed this up maximally.

    Hahaha. Indeed, deathm00n. There are always benefits to wait a bit longer before purchasing games. These features look like it will put it at the same lvl as SimCity 4.

    Yeah, agreed. Darkspore would have been so much better without the DRM, and it’s the DRM that kept me away from SimCity (GlassEngine version) despite it looking a little bit interesting.

    I’m hoping that EA won’t be so very attached to DRM in the future, but I think that might be like hoping for the moon.
