Colin McRae remake rumoured as Codemasters drops Thursday tease

Wednesday, 26th June 2013 10:49 GMT By Dave Cook

The Colin McRae series of rally games could be making a comeback, as suggested by a string of teasing tweets from developer Codemasters. The project will be revealed tomorrow.

Codemasters’ communications director Rich Eddy dropped the above image on Twitter this morning, and as you can see the accompanying font is similar to the text used in the old Colin McRae titles.

Eddy also dropped this hint:

Could we be in store for a revival of the classic rally games in HD format, or perhaps a remake? Let us know what you think below.

Thanks CVG.

    A remake of Colin McRae 2.0 would be awesome. But I’ll be really disappointed if it’s just a mobile thing.

    Colin McRae died in september 15, 2007. It is about time Codemasters stop this milking of the name. The last good Colin McRae Rally game was Colin McRae Rally 2.0 and it was released in 2001. All the games after that have had horrible controls, and have suffered by going multiplatform release. Later games like the Colin McRae Dirt series was ruined by dlc that stare you in the face on the screen. and left you with a feeling after you payed the 60 dollars, you haven’t bought the full game.

    Enough is enough Codemaster, if you continue on this road i am not buying any of your games ever again.

    Dirt 2 is my favorite off-road racer, and it’s a tribute to Colin McRae. Those guys really know how to create a fun, immersive and realistic-feeling experience. Last I heard, they were thinking of walking away from racers. What a shame that would be. This news today gives me renewed hope they’ll stay in the game.

    Update: Ah shit . . .

    iOS garbage. (DAMMIT!)

    The only thing Dirt 2 was a tribute to, was the fucking X-games.

    Codemasters… lol

    They’re like Activision and the COD series. Same shit, one after another!

    Like others have said their last good game is Colin McRae 2.

    @9: Agree!
