Tuesday, 11th June 2013 15:31 GMT By Dave Cook

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is heading to Wii U. It sees Dixie Kong return as a playable character. We’ve got a trailer and screens here.

The game sees Kong’s island attacked by penguins, sea lions and other icy water-dwelling buggers. We’ve got a batch of gameplay screens below.

Can’t go wrong with a new DKC game. A nice little surprise…but Nintendo kinda needed a bigger one.

@1 – Agreed. The DKC games are superb but I am still a little disappointed that Retro’s new game isn’t something else.

Anyway, I have a sneaky suspicion that they are working on something else in parallel, like er… new Zelda…

While Retro Studios is doing this DKC too, it sure is a Garantie that it will be just as awesome Returns was on Wii.

But… still feels like they waste their Potential. They can do Groundbreaking Shit like Prime, and a DKC for sure is not there to be Ground Breaking, its there to be Retro (Fells like word play, but I really don’t want to) and yes, thats the Best for this Brand.

But Nintendo has other Guys who can do that too. But have they other Guys who can do something like Prime?
