Skylanders Swap Force coming to PS4, Xbox One, current-gen versions dated

Skylanders Swap Force will be released on next-gen systems when it launches in the fall, Activision has announced.

Pre-orders will go live on June 7, and come with a free toy through various retailers.

You can pick up a starter pack for $74.99 or individual figures for $9.99 each and Swap Force characters for $14.99 each.

The game will require a new Portal of Power peripheral to play, but those who own Skylanders Giants or Spyro's Adventures toys will still be able to use them. The Portal will come bundled with the starter pack, which launches alongside the game.

In all there will be 16 new characters with over 250 top and bottom combinations, and in the game players will come into contact with 32 new characters.

Skylanders Swap Force will arrive in North America and Australia on October 16 and in Europe on October 18 for 3DS, PS3, Wii, Wii U, and Xbox 360.

A release date for the PS4 and Xbox One versions are to be announced at a later date.

Vicarious Visions is handling the PS4 version, Beenox the Wii version, and n-Space the 3DS version.
