DICE LA working on Battlefield 4, gameplay footage shown

Tuesday, 28th May 2013 09:19 GMT By Dave Cook

Battlefield 4 and Star Wars gave been discussed by DICE LA studio manager Fredrik Loving in a new video interview, which also shows off glimpses of gameplay.

IGN has the clip exclusively so I won’t embed it here, but Loving confirmed that DICE LA is working with DICE’s HQ in Stockholm to develop Battlefield 4. He also commented on EA’s licensing deal with the Star Wars brand, but didn’t discuss the team’s involvement with the IP.

We reported on DICE LA’s recruitment drive for its Star Wars project last week, and there was a distinct leaning towards social and mobile development.

What do you think DICE is working on for the Star Wars brand? Let us know below.

Don’t want to embed IGN video? If so, it’s here on YouTube, on their channel.

And if you didn’t want that, I will back out slowly. ;p

@2 There are new flashes in there I’m sure, as brief as they may be.

Not one bit of new footage here people, it’s all in the 17 minute video release a little while ago. E3 June is the next thing you’ll see of Battlefield 4.

@4 OK then, my bad folks. I’ve changed the title and intro to reflect that.

I kinda feel like this game looks too pale and (wanna-be) realistic for its own good. I mean, the super high graphics don’t seem high to me. They feel like a grey and lifeless current gen mili-shooter. Stuff like Halo 4 and Killzone SF are absolutely behind BF4 in terms of technical graphics but look more next-gen to me than that.

The ONLY truly next-gen looking games that feature both the technology and the FEEL / color of next-gen are The Witcher 3 and perhaps Crysis 3 PC.

They should work on finding a new publisher.

This game is looking pretty good, though very similar to battlefield 3. I really hope that it adds a lot of new features that will actually make people want to buy it. Go to: for free battlefield 4 beta codes.
