Need for Speed: next-gen racer revealing today, new image inside

Thursday, 23rd May 2013 08:45 GMT By Dave Cook

Need for Speed will be getting its yearly reveal today, as confirmed by the game’s official Facebook hub. There’s also a new image that car nuts are likely to go, well, nuts for.

Yup, that’s a Ferrarri. The post reads, “The Rivalry Begins. Learn More on May 23rd”. That’s today, obviously.

The image follows another picture of a police cruiser posted yesterday. It has a very next-gen vibe about it. See it here.

What do you think this is all about? Is it the rumoured Frostbite 2 racer in development at Ghost, EA’s Gothenburgh studio we reported on a while back, or is Criterion still helming the series? Let us know below.

Thanks AGB.

Tried to play the most recent Need for Speed Hot Pursuit again yesterday. Really didn’t like it.

Cars are way too “heavy” and don’t handle quite well, at least to my taste (this is NOT a simulation we are talking about, but an arcade racer: don’t care about realism, I just want to have fun while driving cars)

That’s an F12berlinetta, you guys aren’t seriously thinking of installing unnecessary bodykits and flashy neon lights on that beauty.

As long as the focus is on exotics, there’ll be no need for customizations.

It won’t be Criterion, they alternate years with other studios.
