Over half a million players have signed up for TERA: Rising since the MMO switched to a free-to-play model.

Gameforge opened six new servers to deal with the influx of players when the change was made. In total, over one million users have registered, creating 1.5 million characters in the process.

Interestingly, Gameforge has revealed the Castanic race as the most popular, with Humans and High Elves lagging just behind. Warrior selection is the most popular class, as Sorcerer and Archer make up the top three.

Have you started playing TERA since the free-to-play move took place? Let us know.

Played it in the first week of free-to-play, it’s very good, but I don’t have time for MMOs anymore.

Also, take note square-enix, if FFXIV was going to be F2P they will get way more players, me included.

Good game, unfortunately gets quite boring later on. Alot of wasted or unfulfilled potential.
