ZombiU dev would love to tackle co-op in future instalment, was scrapped in original

ZombiU developer Ubisoft Montpelier did consider adding a co-op mode to its Wii U debut, and has revealed that it would be up for having a proper crack at it in a future instalment of the game. Note, this is not a sequel announcement, sit back down.

Speaking with Nintendo World Report, ZombiU producer Guillaume Brunier was asked if he had ever considered co-op for the release of ZombiU.

He replied, "We did, but we ruled it out quickly as we thought we could not deliver it on time. How to bring a cooperative experience and still keep fear and tension is a question we would love to address though."

Although Brunier and his team skipped over online multiplayer for ZombiU, he was more than happy to share his ultimate scenario, should the developer proceed with a sequel, "We did not spend a lot of time contemplating online multiplayer as we had other issues to address. In our most exciting dreams, we would like to create an online experience where players never quite know where they stand between coop and player vs. player. Doubt is a great nest for tension and fear."

Suddenly, memories of being chased by a much tougher human phantom in Dark Souls and being beaten to death by a six foot sword start flooding back and causing waking nightmares. Not that this ever happened to me of course.

What about you reader, would online co-op give a ZombiU sequel an edge? Let us know below.
